Kiln Roller onsite machining / Metalock repairs

Scope of work.

Probably the largest Kiln in the Southern Hemisphere suffered a fatigue fracture to Cast Steel Roller. Metalock of Australia P/L  repaired the fracture utilizing a series of MN555 No 4 Locks to depth. Manufactured 2 Stabilizing bungs and installed. Machined parent casting to accommodate bungs – required to alleviate elliptical pressures caused by immense weight / load. These rollers are dangerous to weld – as cracks form from weld / HAZ
