Specialised Repair/Maintenance Tools
Timesert Thread Repair System
The Timesert thread repair system is the best available. Timeserts are a thin wall, solid bushing with the internal and external thread synchronised. This allows for minimal stock removal from parent threads with all the advantages of high integral strength, sealing against liquids and gases. The flange on the insert negates the possibility of the insert winding through with the bolt/stud. The bottom few threads of the Timesert are not fully formed until a broaching tool is driven through, which exerts side wall pressure, making the insert difficult to remove under normal winding in and out of bolts, etc. Available in different sizes and materials, they are used in many applications at an O.E.M. level to strengthen/reinforce threads in new products and of course repair of damaged threads. A thick wall Bigsert derivative is also available. Huge stock levels available.
Walton Tap Extractor
Designed to easily remove broken taps, these tools utilise high tensile fingers which fit into the original tap flutes allowing operator to remove broken tap. Available in various sizes and flute number, i.e. 3 flute tap, 4 flute tap. They can save many hours in these applications.

Apply a tap wrench to the square end of the holder. Twist forward and backward a few times to loosen, then back out the broken tap. |
Flex-Hone Surface Finishing Tools are predominantly used for plateau finishing or de-glazing engine bores. Other uses include rust removal, blending in, de-burring. These tools provide those benefits without any real stock removal, are self compensating for wear, extremely easy to use and are virtually unbreakable. Typically we stock these sizes in 180, 240 and even 400Grit in the larger sizes. Material is Silicon Carbide. Sizes up to 8 inch [203mm] are generally available ex stock.
